Training

Tell us your goals and contact us and let us know what you would like to learn, what background you have, if any, in permanent cosmetics or tattoo, and we will discuss the best course or training options for you.  We tailor training to cover only topics you wish to learn or refresh on for 1-on-1 sessions. Single-topic or multiple topics training is available.  1-on-1 or group training days, evenings, or weekends available.  We will discuss & settle on a date and time, and go over the next steps.

Once the training details are agreed upon, a training agreement is emailed to you to sign & date, and email back to us along with a copy of your photo ID to prove you are 18yrs or older (a Driver License, State ID, Passport, Military ID or Military Dependent ID are okay). You will be emailed an invoice to pay your nonrefundable deposit which reserves your training time.  A second invoice will be sent for the balance due, which must be paid no later than 10 days prior to the training date.

Before you can do hands-on work in permanent cosmetics or tattoo, you must obtain a Bloodborne Pathogens Certification for Body Art.  Before or on the start date you must supply us a copy of your BBP.  To obtain one, we recommend the following online option.  You train FREE, pass an exam, then pay for the certification.  With the discount code CPR-MYBBPCERT used at checkout, it should cost less ($25 reg).    https://www.protrainings.com/courses/2-bloodborne-pathogens/topic 

If you have not provided a copy of your current BBP for Body Art, you will need to bring that with you.  You should wear closed-toe shoes, minimal jewelry on hands, if you have long hair bring something to tie it back with, and it is highly recommended you wear dark clothing as we will be working with colored pigments that can stain clothing.  If you require medications, glasses, or special accommodation devices, please bring those.  All training supplies are provided by us. 

Please arrive 15 mins early so no one is waiting on you and so we can make the most of our time together.  You will learn theory as well as perform hands-on practice, and do Q & A with the trainer.  You will be trained in techniques as you are guided on how to perform them & why, but also when not to & why.  During hands-on portions, our trainer will directly supervise and give constructive guidance & feedback during & after each task to help you better develop your skills.

Once you have proven proficiency in hands-on, you will receive your certificate/s in the area/s of training to proudly display on your workspace walls.  You will also receive a transcript copy for your records.  Some states require such records for licensing, so hold onto it.  If you need us after your training has ended, we offer ongoing support to our trainees at no additional cost for the first year.  You will also be invited to join our Facebook group where you can meet others like you.

Because trainings vary, please call us about what FREE items will be included in your specific training for you to keep.  Some trainings do not include kits, however, most do. These may include but are not limited to, a tote bag or box, pigments, practice skins, tools or devices, needles and/or blades, resources, manuals, client paperwork, and/or other items.  It is at the discretion of the trainer.  Transcripts & certificates are provided following proficient completion of training.

Besides receiving our comprehensive training, certificate/s & transcripts earned, an invitation to join our Facebook group (and our awesome 1yr of ongoing support), we also often have items we like to give our trainees, however, they are subject to availability.  This is just our way of saying thank you.  You must complete training to receive them, and we distribute them at the end of the training.  We hope you enjoy them.
